What’s in a Proper Clutch Upgrade?
-
Friction & Pressure Plate Options: organic (street), kevlar (street/track), ceramic puck (track/drag).
-
Flywheels: lightweight chromoly or OEM-weight for drivability.
-
Hydraulics & Hardware: bearings, slaves, lines, pilot bushings, ARP bolts.
-
Power Goals & Use Case: match torque rating to tune, tires, gearing, and intended use.
Tip: Upgrading the clutch is the perfect time to do a rear main seal and short-shift kit to save future labour.
Choose the Right Clutch
-
Stage 1–2 (Organic/Kevlar): Daily drivers up to bolt-ons; smooth engagement.
-
Stage 2+–3 (Ceramic/Carbon-Kevlar): Street/track hybrids; increased clamp load.
-
Stage 3+–4 / Twin-Disc: Big turbo/supercharger, ethanol tunes, launch control—maximum torque capacity.
-
Flywheel Tip: Lighter = faster revs; stock-weight = smoother take-up. Pairing correctly reduces chatter and improves drivability.

Clutch Upgrade FAQ
1) What clutch stage should I buy?
Match the clutch’s torque rating to your current (and planned) wheel torque, then choose friction material based on use (organic = smooth street, ceramic = aggressive track).
2) Do I need a new flywheel?
Often yes. Many performance clutches require a specific flywheel height/material. Replacing now avoids chatter/glazing and saves labour later.
3) Will a performance clutch be harder to drive?
Modern performance kits balance clamp load vs. pedal feel. Organic/kevlar discs keep daily drivability; puck discs bite harder but are more on/off.
4) What else should I change during install?
Throw-out/CSC, pilot, rear main seal, hardware, and fluid. On some platforms, we also recommend a stainless clutch line and mount inserts.
5) Do you ship across Canada?
Absolutely. We offer fast Canada-wide shipping and local pickup in Cloverdale, BC.
